Jurong Shipyard

This is Jurong Shipyard.
This is my first time visit to shipyard.
Shiyard is a dock to repair vessel or build a new vessel (lead time to build a new vessel is 1 and half year at least).
There are total 7 to 8 vessels parking there.
The height of vessel is aroung 7 storeys high, required a lot of mechanism, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic system. That is crazy.....

I snapped this photo when i were onboard. Other vessels that part near by to the shipyard. This one also....
This is my project, the crane!! The crane must have on a vessel for maintainance and construction purpose.
The platform that i were standing during the shot, is the first vessel. I have to cross this vessel before i can go onboard to my client's vessel. They called it "Double Banking"
A lot of piping and tubing system, and there are all an unknown to me.....
This is the view of another side of the Shipyard
Smoking is not allowed to prevent polution and that is for safety. A lot of unknown smoke from here and there....how to know maybe that are framable...
What a good experience to me!!!

Cloud & Blue sky

Last Thursday i had a visit to Jurong Shipyard Singapore. Just for a small issue. I was left to go alone with a pleaseful mind. I was bored after onboard, and snapped some photos.
Above are the photos...so beautiful, right?
I head people say that when you travel with a friend, you just can see or experience half of the beautiful view; but when you go alone, you can bath yourselves throughtly into the beautiful view. Maybe is that reason, i felt this is the most beautiful view i never seen before on plane.

My project :(

This is my project, Australia design, our technician here do not familiar with the overall design from structure to cabling. The crane suppose to be delivered by year 2006, but due to delay of client's project, the crane is left here in our factory.

Until May 08, suddenly client want it back.

And they want it urgently, force us to deliver the crane by End July. Shall i use the word force?? Contractually we suppose had completed it by year 2006, but we did not...

During the in between period, drwgs revised, the design improved, but all newly added componenets not purchase?! And they are all long lead time item.

We want to rush the crane assy, but, unfortunately, almost all critical components (which purchased) had MIA ( Missing In Action), no matter the size is big or small...That is not funny...i am sure.. repurchase need a mising report as supporting doc, but no one willing to issue that report, coz have to see our GM and explain to him about the cost of repurchase... "Cost" a word where all GM very sensitive to.

Drwgs error is also one of the big contributor to the delay, eg: dimension not match lah, pin longer then hole lah, hole bigger dia. then pin lah, components blocking each other lah, no current supply lah, cable size wrong lah, Part number wrong lah...

Plus parts damaged lah, parts unable to source lah, buyer/PC/Production overlooked lah, parts missing lah..a lot and a lot..

All these issues i digested and resolved one by one, my untiring effort.. i am pround of myself, sometime...

Next Monday will meet with client, then i had prepareed myself "bi tan yi". God will bless me...
